Jukka Aalho

Jukka Aalho (born 7 December 1986) is a Finnish author and science communicator best known for the Aum Golly poetry trilogy (2021–2025), which explores AI-assisted writing. He has built his career as a copywriter and science communicator in health tech, including roles at Polar Electro, Oura, and multiple early-stage startups. In 2020, he delivered a TEDx talk on quantifying creativity.

Early life and education

Aalho earned an M.A. in English philology from the University of Oulu in 2012, complemented by studies in Finnish, Latin, Ancient Greek, and marketing. He also studied graphic design and journalism at Newcastle University in Australia and journalism at the Università di Bologna in Italy.

Career

Aalho’s literary work examines authorship and the creative process in the era of generative AI. His debut novel, Sivutieromaani, was published in 2024 by Basam Books. He has hosted the Finnish-language literature podcast Kertojan ääni.
